The bitumin storage unit and distributor is designed and built with the ability to be transported as a conventional shipping container with dimensions of 20ft x 8ft x 4ft 9". It has all the equipment on board to lift under its own power onto a drops truck or a any civilian ISO compatible vehicle. To achieve this the unit is capable of lifting itself 2 metres from the ground. Once locked onto the carrying vehicles twist locks the unit will be able to operate under its own on board engine to deploy a spray bar to road level for surface dressing, spray lance operation and decanting/transfer operations.
The mainframe is constructed of steel sections. This frame contains a bitumin tank (7,500-8,000 litre capacity) insulated all round with at least 50mm high density rockwool fibre. This tank is located centrally, at the front of the tank there is a storage area that contains the lifting legs, ligting pins, equipment and space for the bitumin lance and the interface transfer pipe. The rear portion of the unit is a area dedicated to the diesel engine, diesel fuel tank, hydraulic oil reservoir, generation system, bitumin transfer system, the spray bar, the spray bar deployment system and the cpntrol system.
The heating system on the unit is integral. A diesel fired burner uses technology such as a flame failure to throw a flame up heater tubes which passes through the bitumin tank. The heaters are started from the main control panel.
The spray bar assembly, being a proprietarym unit deploys from the rear of the unit via a horizontal slide and vertically via a scissor lift operation. The spray bar being 2.6 metres wide when fully extended is attached to this scissor lift.
A heated safety shower unit incorporating a seperate eye wash unit is supplied with the bitumin unit for emergency treatment in the event of an operater coming into contact with hot bitumin on their skin or eyes.
This unit can be supplied with on its own or with a drops/cargo vehicle at additional cost.
